EDIRNE YOUTH AND EDUCATION ASSOCIATION “TOURISM AND FRIENDS” MOTIVATION CAMPAIGN

Edirne Youth and Education Association carried out a Motivation Campaign “TOURISM AND FRIENDS” in Edirne between 18 May and 9 June 2021.

The campaign was funded within the framework of the “EDİRNE-BURGAS” YOUTH TOURISM CENTER project with reference number CB005.2.23.038 funded under the Interreg – IPA Cross-Border Cooperation Programme Bulgaria-Turkey 2014-2020.

The aim of the motivation campaign in Edirne, in parallel with the main purpose of the project, is to enable students and young people from Edirne to participate in the aims and activities of the project and to motivate them to recognize and promote the natural, cultural and historical heritage of the Edirne-Burgas cross-border region. A team of experts from Edirne Youth and Education Association visited 5 high schools including Edirne Serhat IMKB Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, Edirne Dr. Sadık Ahmet Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School (Tourism Vocational High School), Edirne İlhami Ertem High School and Edirne Emel-Özgür Subaşıay Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School (Trade High School), and  3 NGOs including Edirne Cross-Border Cultures Research Association, Thrace Balkan Turks Culture and Solidarity Association and the Association of Graduates of Trade High School, and gave information about the “riches of the Edirne-Burgas cross-border region” and made presentations. As part of the motivation campaign, a survey was conducted among 507 students and young people from Edirne about their attitudes towards participating in the project activities, their tourism activities and the awareness level of each participant regarding the Touristic Resources in the Edirne-Burgas cross-border region.
